A growing number of people in Vietnam are turning towards religion
as the country's economy embraces capitalism and brings huge
social changes. Church and temple attendance have gone up in
recent years, but one religion in particular is becoming very
popular. Caodaism, an indigenous religion influenced by Eastern
and Western religious traditions, is enjoying particular
popularity among the Vietnamese because of its mix of Buddhist,
Taoist and Christian thought. Its rituals incorporate many aspects of the world's major religions, including Hinduism, Islam and Christianity.
